Job Description

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for its Portland laboratory facility to handle specimen processing, data entry, and equipment maintenance on a first shift schedule. The role involves preparing clinical samples for testing and maintaining laboratory standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
• Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
• Monitor laboratory equipment functionality and perform routine maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and replenish bench supplies
• Maintain clean and safe work environment while following Standard Operating Procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Comfortable handling biological specimens with accurate identification
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking in fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior healthcare, laboratory, or manufacturing production experience preferred

Compensation: $21.50 - $26.85 per hour
